St. Paul’s offers several opportunities to grow and gain understanding in Scripture and the Christian faith. Our most basic opportunity is Sunday morning education hour for children, youth, and adults. Every Sunday at 10:30, children ages 5 to 12 gather in the classrooms for simple lessons in the Christian faith, Bible stories, activities and crafts, and prayer. We also have a “Pre-Confirmation class for the 4th through 6th graders, to prepare them for formal Confirmation studies with Pastor, which begins in the 7th grade.
The Confirmed youth meet on Sundays at 10:30 in the youth room for a more in-depth study of the Bible, to talk, and to share stores about faith and service.
Adults meet in the Fellowship Hall or conference room and study topics and Scripture and are regularly led by Pastor Carlson. We are currently studying the Psalms.
We also meet on Thursday mornings at 9:00 for an in-depth study of the Book of Concord.
As Lutherans, we believe that the Book of Concord, the confessional writings of the Reformation, are a true exposition of the Holy Scripture. In other words, they rightly confess the Christian faith, just like the creeds.
But so few Lutherans know the Lutheran Confessions. We confess that they’re true to the Scripture, yet we don’t know what they say. This isn’t good!
Thursday mornings at 9:00 is your opportunity to study the Book of Concord and grow in your faith as a Lutheran Christian. If you don’t have a Book of Concord, no problem! Just visit www.cph.org to order one or speak to pastor. As a Christian you should know what you confess, and confess what you know. Join us to learn what it is we confess as Lutherans.
St. Paul’s hosts a bi-weekly community education program called Lifetree Cafe. This one-hour program explores a wide range of topics of interest, allows guests to talk through the topics, ask questions, and engage in great conversation, and provides top-quality drinks and food at no charge.
